School Memory
I have many great memories. For ten years Willis, Rose and I drove to school, winter and summer with a horse and buggy or cutter. Every school day Willis would hitch one side of the horse’s harness to the buggy and I the other whether rain, shine, blizzard or cold. We would sit in a row with Willis in the middle.
At school we unhitched the horse and put it in the school barn. After school we again hitched the horse and in one hour we were home. On nice days we talked and enjoyed the ride, however there were cold winter days that we huddled together and covered up to keep warm. When Willis was grade ten he
said he wanted to farm and quit school. Dad was agreeable and from that day on Willis was a farmer.
Rest in Peace Willis
