Wayne, Melanie & Daryl,
Geri touched so many hearts, but I don't think she could have known how much, because its just who she was - always looking out for others. I don't think her mind ever stopped thinking of what she could do or what she felt she should be doing.
I didn't know how lucky I was as a kid growing up, to have Geri as a neighbour and caring adult in my life. But I did know that she was always someone I could count on. And if the phone ever rang at 10PM, we knew without picking up that it was Geri, telling us to put the coffee on, she and Wayne were on their way over for a quick visit.
I may not have seen Geri much in recent years, but she is still missed.
Cheryl

Q: How would you describe Geraldine to someone who had never met them?
A: By being her welcoming self Geri helped me to feel a connection to the Alberta Tucks. During the reunion, it was apparent to me that it was a family effort, but Geri was the one that made things go. We will all feel the loss of Geri deeply.
Wayne, Daryl and Melanie, you have my sincere sympathy for your loss.

Q: How did you meet Geraldine?
A: In 2022, we moved to Vegreville and had the great fortune of being neighbours with Geri. We had great conversations over the fence while pruning and talking about our flowers, perennials, and trees. Geri helped us feel at home in our neighbourhood. Geri gave her time and energy to help many people and newcomers to Vegreville, and we will be forever grateful for her friendship and warmth—our sincere condolences to Wayne and their family.

I’ve known Geri for the past few years. She was always positive, supportive and getting things done.
A couple years ago she invited us to enjoy supper in the field with her and her family when the harvest was being done. It was a wonderful time, sitting on folding chairs, eating off paper plates, being outdoors on a lovely evening sharing quality time with friends.
It may seem simple but that dinner in the field showed me Geri’s strength and commitment to family and to contributing wholeheartedly to the larger picture of life.
Thank you Geri for this wonderful example of being a positive force in the world. We will miss you.

Honoring the Life of Geraldine Tuck On behalf of all Ukrainian evacuees, We want to express our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for Geraldine ("Geri") Tuck. Geri was an extraordinary woman who stepped in without hesitation when we needed help the most.
When the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, Geri could not simply sit back and watch. She immediately stood up for Ukraine and all Ukrainians, joining the Vegreville and Area Stands with Ukraine Committee. She gave her heart, her time, and her energy, working harder than anyone could imagine, to make sure we felt supported and cared for.
We first met Geri when she was managing the donation center. Her dedication was unmatched—she worked tirelessly, often more than 40 hours a week, weekdays and weekends, doing everything in her power to help us rebuild our lives. But Geri didn’t just help; she poured her soul into every act of kindness. She cleaned apartments shoulder to shoulder with evacuees to ensure they felt like home. She thoughtfully provided good-quality bedding, dishes, coffee makers, and so much more—always paying attention to the smallest details. She paid attention to every little detail. If she found something that matched what a family already had, she made sure they got it. She even saved Christmas trees in the summer, knowing how much it would mean for families to celebrate the holidays properly.
Geri was always there for us, no matter what we needed. Whether she was delivering furniture with her truck, driving families to appointments in Edmonton, or simply offering a kind word and encouragement, Geri’s love and compassion were constant. She was more than a volunteer—she became a friend, a supporter, and a true guardian angel to so many of us. We admired her deeply—not just for her hard work, but for her warm heart, her sharp mind, and the grace she carried with her every day. Her generosity and dedication were inspiring, and her willingness to give so much of herself left an everlasting mark on our lives.
There will never be another like Geri. She made an unforgettable impact on our hearts and showed us the true meaning of compassion. Her legacy of love, selflessness, and kindness will live on, and we will forever be grateful for everything she did for us.
May she rest in peace, knowing the profound difference she made in the world and the lives she touched.
With love and eternal gratitude, The Ukrainian Newcommers/Evacuees

Our hearts are with Geri's family at this time.
I had fond memories of Geri when I was a girl living in Vegreville with my grandparents Hiram and Mea Burgar.
I really appreciated Geri's help after my brother Wayne's passing.
She was a strong, intelligent, kind, selfless woman.
I would not have been able to get through that time without her help.
I admired her very, very much and I loved her dearly.
Sending Wayne a big supportive hug from Jorge and I.
Rest in peace, my friend.

When it comes to "women in ag", for me, Geri would be at the top of the list. She was a knowledgeable, dedicated, involved farm partner and I always appreciated my visits with her at ag events. And I had so much respect for the partnership and relationship she and Wayne had built. My heart goes out to Wayne and family and to Daryl and Courtney and their families. Hugs to all of you.

I first met Geri when I worked for AgPro Grain at Lavoy and we were arranging some trucking through Tuck Trucking. Geri became a friend and we saw each other at many social events. After I left Vegreville, we kept in touch annually (usually after Geri got my Christmas letter update) with a phone call snd more frequently with email and messaging. Last call, we had chatted about her home in Veg and us visiting on her next trip to visit Melanie.
I know family and friends will all have many cherished memories to celebrate the life of this dynamic lady who touched so many lives. You will be missed Geri. Special hugs to all Geri's family and friends.
