My childhood memories of Peggy are with her horse named Sugar. Sugar became the neighborhood pet horse who we all piled on and road bareback right on "diaper avenue".
Peggy was a hard worker, who lovingly raised Donald Sean & Bonnie with excellent sound values. Her unconditional love will remain within her children. She will be sadly missed. ❤️

I have several memories about Peggy , I will never forget . She always called me Camie and teased me in fun. We shared her stories with the time she lived in Yellowknife and I shared the times about the time I worked in Inuvik . Also the time that my wife and I lived in Nunavut (2000 -2010) . Our deepest prayers to Don, Ken and Gayla and families at this time of need. Rest in Peace Peggy

Our sincere condolences for your loss of your beloved mother. We will always remember Peggy as a sincere caring neighbor (across the back alley). She would tell it like it was yet be kind in her words. We looked forward to Peggy driving down the back alley stopping to share her thoughts and stories. She continued to drive by frequently even after moving out of her home. May you rest in eternal peace & comfort Peggy.

Very sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing and I send my deepest condolences to everyone in the family. I have long ago memories of visits with Peggy and hearing about her job and life in Yellowknife. She always had a strong spirit and lots of fortitude. May all your wonderful memories of your beloved Mom and Grandmother bring you comfort during this difficult time.

I have so many fond memories of us growing up as neighbours and staying close all of our lives. Peggy's horse, Sugar, was a neighbourhood favorite, of course. When younger, we skipped school together, partied together and went to Jasper together. Later I visited Peg twice in Yellowknife. As those who knew Peg will testify, Peg was a foodie. As a teen, I was over at her house one Good Friday and me being raised Catholic, no meat was allowed on any Friday much less Good Friday. Here Peg was tempting me with a freshly cooked ham. What a sinner I was! Another time, Peg came to visit Tony and I in Campbell River. We went out for "all you can eat" fish and chips. Peg ate several platefuls in addition to ordering oysters for a starter! She loved the home-made cinnamon buns from Robert's Resort and going for boat rides with Captain Tony.
Our kids were the same age, and we all enjoyed camping at Lake Belluvue in the summer and Christmas visits in the winter. I am very sad that I can not attend Peg's memorial service.

Many happy memories of running around our street with Peggy, and going over to the Pawliuk house to read comics and drink chocolate milk. One wet spring we rafted through the poplar woods behind their house, and in the autumn we built straw forts in the field there. And Peggy had a horse, ‘Sugar’…we’d ride that poor thing bareback! In the Pawliuk living room was a beautiful painting by her Aunt Birdie, of a brook in the woods. I remember looking at it many times. Peggy was the eldest of us three sharing the same birthday, and she was always smarter and good at math, which impressed me. Later, when I would come home to visit my parents, often with my kids, I would go over to visit her, her kids and her cats, all of which she adored.

How lucky I was to have you as my mom. The strongest and most resilient person I'll ever know, you really did your best to raise us with endless, unconditional love. I know how proud you were of all 3 of your children, and we are all who we are today because of you. Though you may no longer tell your wild tales or light up the room with your laughter, your spark and spirit will live on in each of us. I love you very much and I know you're surrounded by the love of those who passed before you, where ever you are.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart is with your family during this time.
Aunt Peggy was such a remarkable woman—intelligent, thoughtful, and always quick with a clever remark. I always appreciated her Christmas cards; they were meaningful reminders of her kindness and thoughtfulness.
My most recent memory of her firmly insisting on her orange pop when I too slow—will always bring a smile to my face. I like to imagine her now, enjoying an endless supply.
It was always clear how proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and siblings. As difficult as this time may be, I hope you find comfort in knowing that she left a part of herself in each of you.
With love & sympathy,
Nicole, James, Sophia, Rylan and Merrick

My mom had a difficult life but always went above and beyond to show how much she loved us. I still can’t believe I won’t be able to call her anymore, hear her unforgettable stories, bring her favourites from Costco, tell her how well my kids are doing. I miss you tremendously, mom, and I will love you forever.
