I had the privilege of teaching with Barb at Chipman School. Even though it was only for one year, it was an honour to have met her, collaborated with her, and shared experiences. Barb's talents were unending and her sense of humour entertained us every day. Her thoughtfulness was always present.
May peace and blessings surround her.

Ken and Family.
We were out of the country when we got the shocking news, and were unable to attend the funeral service. There aren't adequate words to express our deep sorrow at your tremendous loss. Barb was loved by all the parishioners at St. Gregory's Parish in Holden as she blessed us week after week with her beautiful voice and talented organ playing. We don't think she ever realized how much she enhanced our spirituality with her wonderful, talented gifts.
May you be blessed by the knowledge that she has now joined the heavenly angels and choir and will be with you in spirit daily, moment by moment. And may the many wonderful memories you have, sustain you during the tremendous, painful suffering you are experiencing.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, and may God's peace rest upon you. With love and prayers, Dave & Marian.

Blessings and condolences to Ken the children and extended family.
Others have expressed so well Barbs caring and loving nature . My latest contact with Barb was when she reached out on 2 different occasions to invite me to the Akasu Pallative Care Grieving Service and a special memorial at St Martins church. Both services helped me to deal with Elaine's death. Rest in peace Barb!

I worked with Barb at A.L. Horton Elementary School up until her retirement. Working with students has its rewards and challenges. Barb greeted everyday with a smile and a let’s keep going attitude. What I will mostly remember about Barb is my random encounters out in the community. She always had time to have a sincere chat. Her love of family was foremost; but, she always asked about my family and life. I will always remember Barb as one of the most genuine people I have had the honour to know. God Bless you all!

I’ll miss you Barb. I remember sleeping over with Anthony and Jeff a few summers. Your home always felt safe and loving. You made sure to take great care of us and that fun was always had…but you also made sure to rein us in when we were getting too crazy! I’ll never forget the way you yelled “Anthony” whenever we got into trouble and that things were never my fault - even though I was an instigator.

Barb Bienvenue was a valued volunteer member of the Chaplaincy ministry at St. Joseph’s General Hospital and will be missed by all of us that call her our friend. Barb served as a member of AKASU Palliative Care Society, represented St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, played piano at Chapel services, and visited patients on a regular basis. Barb demonstrated a Christ-like spirit, bringing comfort and genuine care to the patients, family members and staff that she interacted with. I am certain that as Barb came before her Lord, she was welcomed with the words: “Bienvenue! Good and faithful servant … Enter now into the joy of Thy Lord.” (Matthew 25:1)
Sincerely,
Chaplain Dwayne Buhler

Q: How did you meet Barbara?
A: Barb was the first person I met at St. Martin of Tours Church. I moved to Alberta from Nova Scotia and was looking for a Roman Catholic Church to be part of. I drove down the street on a Saturday evening 10 minutes before Mass saw the Church & was happy to attend. I talked to Barb after Mass to thank her for the beautiful music during Mass & walked out being a choir member & agreeing to sing some Psalms at Easter Vigil. Barb & I became fast friends & travelled to conferences, Alpha courses & many other events together, I even took her back home to NS & PEI with me! We had a good time & a lot of laughs. She was such a warm, welcoming person, I had "my room" as she called it, at her house, when I'd stay overnight so we could attend functions together. Barb was like a sister to me, I enjoyed our time together so much and will deeply miss my dear friend Barb! May the songs of the Angels welcome you, as they guide you along your way!
My heartfelt condolences are with Ken and all Barb's family in this time of great sorrow. May fond memories of Barb fill your heart and mind with peace! God Bless!
