I (Mike) met Len when I started working at LandLink in 2005; I could aways rely on him to accommodate our needs at short notice. Over the years we developed a good working relationship as well as becoming friends (we shared a birthday too). During the big flood of 2013 Len was the first assessor out in the field conducting inspections, helping impacted Albertans. He always showed compassion and empathy when working with applicants. When in the field, Len always booked a hotel room with a kitchenette where he could cook some great meals for supper; work colleagues were always welcome to sit and eat with him. He always had a smiling face and made us laugh.
Condolences to the Kozak family from Mike and Rose O’Donoghue

As the managing partner with LandLink Consulting, I had the privilege of working with Len and enjoying both his work ethic and his sense of humour. He was a pleasure to be around and will be missed by family and friends alike.

My father Leonard was the hardest working man I ever knew he was a people person and enjoyed his work including farming with his son. The one thing I can say about my father is you made me proud dad you fulfilled my dreams and being able to work with you is the greatest blessing I ever had I am so thankful for you as my father and you made me proud. You provided for your family and we shared many laughs and conversations along the way you are my best friend, my father. I miss you everyday and think about you every minute of every day going to the farm without you hurts so much but I always think of you when I go and think of the work we put in on the farms. It was my pleasure as your son to be your caregiver and look after you. Our time was cut short dad I love you and miss you with all my heart dad. Thank you for being my father.

To the Kozak family,
Sending condolences to you all.
Len was such a wonderful friend. I had the opportunity to work along side Len at the City of Edmonton Assessment Branch. We shared many laughs there and I nick named him Yogi Bear. I really got to know Len when we worked together at Landlink and he was to train me but we started the training session with a night of enjoying one too many drinks. Len then had to stay in the office the next day and I was able to be in the field. He made sure I was aware of this…lol. We had next door rooms at the designated motel and every night Len would cook something up for dinner and had to share it with me. And we always ended the evening with a drink. Shared so many laughs with him. Just a gem of a man. Full of love for his family and cherished the many friends he made along life’s journey.
Rest in peace Len and thank you for your friendship.

Q: What meal or recipe did Leonard love?
A: My dad made “dough” soup.
For the life of me I cannot recreate this recipe and thinking of it always brings fond memories of my dad’s abilities to cook. I will try, try again dad!
He enjoyed making pies and his famous soft ginger snap cookies for us growing up.
There is one memory that stands out in particular, I had a miniature tea set, one evening he made his ginger snap cookies & had “tea” party with me, I was the happiest little girl in the world!

It's with heartfelt sympathy I offer my condolences to all who knew and loved Len. You could never be sad around Len he would have you laughing in no time. I will never order chicken with black bean sauce over rice noodles and not think of Len smiling and counting the sauce spots on his white shirt. Rest in peace, my friend, you deserve it.
