Obituary of Merron Dan Zwarich

ZWARICH, Merron Dan July 19, 1940 – September 19, 2025 It is with great sadness that the family of Merron Zwarich announce his sudden passing on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the age of 85 years in Vegreville, Alberta Merron was born in Vegreville, Alberta to William and Annie Zwarich. He is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 65 years; two children Karen (Garrett), and Bobby (Marina); five grandchildren Brianna (Keegan), Tynan, Kara, Mallory and Thomas; two great grandchildren Naomi and Wren; siblings Effie, and Louise; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Merron was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Mary, Ellen, Mike, Jennie, Peter, Jane, Steve, and John. Faith, family, and work were important to Merron, and gave him so much joy and meaning throughout his years. His passing leaves an emptiness that will be felt by all who were a part of his life. A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Vegreville, Alberta with Basilian Fathers officiating. Interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Vegreville for the exceptional and compassionate care received by both Merron and his family. Memorial donations may be made to the “Covenant Health Foundation c/o St. Joseph’s General Hospital.”
