I met Rod at least 30 years ago. My husband at the time and Rod used to work together at Blue Skys Country. It was at that time that I met Michelle. The four of us seemed inseparable. Our kids Kaylee and Chase, Karly and Calen were all the same ages, and we created so many wonderful memories together. I think my fondest memory of Rod is when we were hosting the Blue Skys Sales team and their wives over for a get together. Dancing Queen by ABBA started to play over the stereo. Rod and I decided we needed to put on a performance. We spotted a coffee table that was made of real cheap wood and very unstable but that didn’t stop us. We got up on that coffee table singing and dancing, when all of a sudden bang… all four legs flatten, and we came tumbling down laughing and yet still not missing a beat. We continued singing and laughing as we had a gig to perform. I’m pretty sure we put that song on repeat at least two other times until we perfected it. Rod, thank you for the years of friendship, and all the cherished memories the four of us made over the past years. You are truly loved and will forever be deeply missed. Love, Alana

Rod was such a big personality and a great friend. He had the biggest heart and would help his family and friends whenever needed. We had so many laughs and chats around the kitchen island. One of my best memories was when we went to Cuba and listening to Cory and Rod firing jokes back and forth. I have never laughed so hard in my life. He will never be forgotten and truly missed. I was at a stadium concert with my daughter and her family. We come out of the stadium and headed for the LRT. I was trying to make them hurry and when I stepped in the train someone grabbed me from behind! Scared me until I turned around and there was Rod! Then my daughter is yelling at me for sitting in a strangers lap! I told her this is no stranger this is Rod! Once you met Rod he was no longer a stranger he was a good friend!

El, this is such a devastating loss. I feel for you all.
My deepest condolences and heartfelt thoughts and prayers sent out to you, Cory, to Rod’s girls and their significant others Kaylee (Ryley) and Karly (Jesse) and his precious granddaughter Vallie, and to Rod’s dad Nelvert and dear mom Pat, as well as Laurie, Brad, Justin, Diana all his precious nieces and nephews and great nephew.
