Q: What will you miss most about Nicholas James?
A: Jim had incredibly good humour always up for a laugh knowledgable and was a great member of the amateur radio community. A competitive contester and all-around good man I will miss the chats we had on our repeater network and working HF with him.

I was so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I met Jim when I moved to Vegreville in 1977. We hit it off quickly, we both had a dry sense of humour, were interested in things electronic and enjoyed a bit of mischief! If it wasn’t for Jim’s help, I doubt I would have passed Math 30, he was able to help me in ways the teacher couldn’t. I admired Jim’s intelligence, willingness to help and pragmatic ways in dealing with life. Our lives went in different directions in adulthood but I feel very blessed to have had a couple of great phone calls and visits with Jim over the past couple of years.
Sincere condolences to Taylyr, the Kuzyk family and all of Jim’s friends.

My condolences to Jim’s family for your loss. I had the absolute pleasure of being mentored by Jim just before he retired from Telus. Thank you for all the Laughs, knowledge and wisdom you shared with me over the years. You are missed Jim.

Please accept our deepest condolences with Jim's passing! I was just getting to know Jim as I recently got into amateur radio and was checking into the net along side Jim and considered ourselves neighbors even though we lived about 10 blocks from each other! Jim will be missed by all that knew him as he was very genuine and would assist when needed! Bill and Catherine Kruining

Although we have never met you our family extends our condolences to your family. We are the children of Ted Austin. I remember when your mom and dad came to visit gramma Ella Austin, nick and Jeanne decided to walk down to the apple orchard. They ran into a bees nest and Nick was stung many times. Such a silly thing to remember. Ted’s remaining children Bonnie, Mike, Gary.
