Lil was a crucial person in our early days in Vegreville. We moved to Vegreville in 1973 and she welcomed this very young piano teacher and her husband Derek ever so warmly into her home. Many Saturdays and evenings were spent teaching her children piano and many other students in the living room which had a big influence on the family. Lil and I shared many stories over lunches and suppers about our children and dreams and hopes. Nothing daunted her when it came to taking on any kind of household project or job when required. We shared family weddings and events over those early years. When it came time for our daughter’s wedding on the farm, Lil helped with flower pots for the special day. In her later years we didn’t see each other as often but always enjoyed our visits when we saw each other. Lil was a generous hearted woman who loved her family and community deeply. Viola Braun-Fox
