Obituary of Peter Sokoluk

SOKOLUK, Peter October 26, 1930 – January 2, 2026 It is with profound sadness that the family of Peter Sokoluk announces his passing on January 2, 2026, at the age of 95 years. Peter was the beloved husband of Alice for 64 years; a cherished father of Christina (John), Kimberly (Kelly), and Cam (Val); a grandfather to eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara; three grandchildren; his parents Mary and Anton; as well as two brothers; and one sister. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Staff, Dr. Strydom, Fr. Iryney Valyavka, John and Arlene Sokoluk, and Margaret and Wayne for all their kindness, compassion, and support during this difficult time. At the family's request, a private service was held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of the following charities, “Holy Trinity Parish”, “Covenant Health Foundation c/o St. Joseph’s General Hospital – Vegreville Palliative Care Unit”, or “Stollery Children’s Hospital.” Peter will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
