Obituary of Walter Ewasuk

EWASUK, Walter Louis June 5, 1932 – February 23, 2026 Walter Louis Ewasuk passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta, on February 23, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on June 5, 1932, in Vegreville, Alberta, Walter was a man deeply rooted in his community and family. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, Dan (Robin) and David James (Eleanor). His legacy continues through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister Anne Gordeyko as well as numerous nieces and nephews who held him in high regard. Walter was predeceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth Ewasuk; his brothers, Charlie (Mary) and Marshall; his sister, Fiona (Mike); and brother-in-law Bill Gordeyko. A Funeral Service to celebrate Walter’s long and full life will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Autumn Rose Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Evan Panchuk officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery – Szypenitz. Memorial donations may be made to charity of one’s choice.
