WELIN, Alicia Joan July 14, 1939 – June 30, 2026 On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, Alicia Joan Welin (nee Ranger) of Vegreville, Alberta peacefully passed away at the age of 86 years. Alicia Joan is survived by her loving sons Albert and Kevin (Jean); brother Larry Ranger; numerous nieces, nephews and in-law’s. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald; parents Jack “William” and Mary Ranger; brothers Ken and Ray; sisters Dorothy, Eileen and Thelma; along with numerous in-laws’. Alicia “Joan” had quite a long journey. She was a nurse’s aide in her early days and worked numerous jobs and was always on the go! She loved her family and family gatherings and being at the cabin at Floating Stone Lake. She loved gardening, baking, and making her famous lasagna with fresh bread buns. She always had a funny story to share along with a few good jokes. She was an avid book reader and loved her soap opera TV show The Young and the Restless, Matlock, Tracker, The Olympics, curling and hockey. She loved her fur babies, and the yellow finches outside her acreage windows. She always made time for a cup of coffee and a visit along with long phone conversations with family and friends. Cremation has taken place, as per Alicia’s wishes no service will be held. Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. A HUGE thank you to Vegreville St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Dr. Strydom, Dr. Hollins, Dr. Frank, Dr. Farhat, Dr. OJ, ALL of the nursing staff and meal services staff. The family is so grateful that we knew Alicia was in good care at all times. A special thank you to Autumn Rose Funeral Home, Patricia, Gordon and Victoria for all your professionalism, kindness, and compassion.
