Our association with Gerald & Nettie included his family as from Romanian Decent & Nettie's family from school days in Hairy Hill with the Shymko siblings coming on the school bus from the Ispas & my aunts having similar music ability as did they.
They would get together at the school house & have a lovely sing song. The 2 brothers were the HH - Everly Brothers with guitars and great songs & voices !
When Gerald came on the scene with Nettie we all wowed this relationship. Gerald became our host, a golf partner, a kind & gentle, gentleman with a great sense of humor & a voice of reason.
We spent some fun times in the Desert at Palm Springs Resorts at each other's homes with each other's friends who knew each other back home !!
May the family find sollice in knowing that Gerald made the world a better place. Memories Eternal

Nettie, Michelle and Brent, I was saddened to hear about the passing of Gerald. I remember him most for laughter and kindness. He was a good friend to dad. I am certain that Dad, Orest and Gerald are now having a "shotski" together.
My heartfelt sympathy.

Q: What will you miss most about Gerald?
A: What I will miss most about my Uncle Gerald is the sound of his laugh, which was quite contagious to say the least. I will also miss his smile, whenever I walked into the room, he always made me feel cared for and deeply loved.
Uncle Gerald complimented me that I had so much grace. I would say feeling was mutual, he ment the world to me and I will miss him dearly.
May he rest in peace in heaven with the angels and all of his loved ones who have gone before him, until we meet again, Memory Eternal! All my love, Joy xoxoxo

I hope this is the right Gerald, but, in the sixties, when I was around 14, my father, Mike Kindrake, was managing a grain elevator in Two Hills. One day, a strapping young fellow named Gerald Toma showed up and joined him. I soon came to know, and look up to Gerald, and he and I quickly developed a “Jake and the Kid” type of relationship. I looked up to him as a model of everything I hoped to be. He was kind, humorous, and seemed to understand me and, even though I was much younger, I could relate to him.
He always called me “Mackie”, as in “Hey, Mackie, what are you up to?”and I loved that nickname because no one else called me that. He was my friend, protector, confidant, and model. I wish we had kept in touch, but, as I recall, he moved on to farming near Hairy Hill, and I left for university a few years later. I will always have fond memories of him. Vichnaya Pamyat.
