Obituary of Jodi Miller

Please share a memory of Jodi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MILLER, Jodi March 1, 1987 – July 15, 2026 Jodi loved her family, friends, farm, town, and cabin life. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, music, and cheering on her beloved Oilers. She also adored her dogs and was a proud auntie to her ten nieces and nephews, always bursting with excitement to welcome a new little one into the family. Jodi had a special place in her heart for Terry Fox and completed many Terry Fox Runs over the years. She deeply admired Terry’s courage and resilience, and his message of hope inspired exactly how she lived—with compassion, determination, and a firm belief that small acts of kindness make a lasting difference. That indomitable spirit saw her through many health and life challenges. Jodi was a VALID client for over 20 years and an avid Special Olympics bowler for 25. Her staff and friends there were truly a second family to her. Jodi’s big heart, sense of humour, and unwavering positive nature touched countless lives. She possessed great empathy and a surprising depth of understanding when it came to human nature and emotions. She never wanted anyone around her to be upset or sad. Jodi is survived by her loving parents, Cam & Val; her siblings Ashley (Mike), Jennifer (Dane), Lauren (Tyler), Jess (Chris), and Derek (Karly); her cherished nieces and nephews McKinley, Connor, Lucas, Brooklyn, Ava, Rowan, Paxton, Sawyer, Hadley, and Wrenley; and her grandmothers, Lois Harris and Alice Sokoluk. Jodi was predeceased by her grandfather’s Don Harris and Peter Sokoluk, and grandparents Gordon & Audrey Miller. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, the U of A Hospital, and the Don Mazankowski Heart Institute. In lieu of flowers and to honour Jodi’s memory, the family requests that you join a local Terry Fox Run or make a donation to “VALID”, the “Terry Fox Foundation”, or the “Vegreville Special Olympics.” A Celebration of Jodi’s Life will be held at a later date.
