Obituary of Mary Irene Zowtuk

ZOWTUK, Mary Irene February 6, 1929 – September 1, 2015 God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So He closed his arms around you, And whispered “Come with me”. On September 1, 2015, Mary Irene Zowtuk of Vegreville passed away at the age of 86 years. She is survived by her loving children, Joyce of Edmonton, Laurie (Ruth Ann) of Camrose, Dennis (Colette) of Vegreville, Marcel (Tina) of Calgary, and Ronald of Vegreville; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Alice (Russell) Hewko of Vegreville and Patricia Shimko of Vermilion; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael N. Zowtuk; her parents, Anastasia (Nancy) and Peter Faryna; her sister, Susan Ponich; her daughter in-law, Joanne (JC) Zowtuk; her parents in-law, Annie and Nick Zowtuk; her brother in-law, Patrick Zowtuck; her sister in-law, Susan Ewasiuk and her niece, Sharon Goshko. Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Vegreville with Father Greg Faryna officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Kidney Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of one’s choice.
