SEMENCHUK, Josephine
October 7, 1930 – January 9, 2016
On Saturday, January 9, 2016, Josephine Semenchuk of Vegreville, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 85 years.
Josephine is survived by her loving family, her husband of 65 years, Nicholas; three daughters Joan (Lewis) Carter, Yvonne (Leo) Derkson and Marlene (Brian) Balaberda; one son Kelwyn (Jocelyn) Semenchuk; nine grandchildren Jennifer, Amy, Faye, Jeffrey, Nathaniel, Desiree, Joshua, Alexander and Aidan; eight great grandchildren Dezarae, Nathan, Allison, Brayden, Chandra, Asha, Lucas and Emma; siblings Nick (Louise) Chrapko, Alice Derdak and Orest (Sheila) Chrapko; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Josephine was predeceased by her parents John and Maria Chrapko; brothers Bill, Peter and Joe Chrapko; sisters Kay Hohol, Rose Skoropad and Anne Speidel.
A Funeral Rite will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Autumn Rose Funeral Home in Vegreville, Alberta with Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie officiating. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the “MS Society Canada” or to “Spinal Muscular Atrophy Canada (SMA).”
