Gary: We are both so thankful that we were able to see Bessie at Thomas and Roma's reception that you hosted a couple of years ago. Even though it had been decades since we last saw her, you never really grasp the concept that this might be the last visit. Generally, our parents have been blessed with long and healthy lives and Bessie was certainly a good example of that.
I still recall memories of our youth when my family would travel to Vegreville to spend the weekend with yours. You and I would do whatever young boys did back in the late 50's or early 60's, our parents would discuss world events and who knows what else. Now, half a century older, I can't help but reminisce about the fearless innocence of that era compared to today, disquieting. I am forever grateful for those early memories.
My parents are too elderly to attend or even send a message. But I know their hearts are with you. On behalf of the entire family we are sorry for your loss, you are always welcome at our table.
