“Be Good, Be Kind, Be Gentle”
-Douglas Lawton Foyster
The world has lost one of the good ones, one of the very best souls we were lucky enough to call Husband, Son, Dad, Grampa, Brother, Uncle, and friend.
Doug Foyster passed away peacefully the morning of July 5, 2023, at the age of 75 years, his loving wife Gayle by his side, never faltering in her wonderful care for Dad. If love alone could heal someone, he would have lived forever.
Doug was such an extraordinary special person, leaving an impression behind with everyone he met. You only had to stand still in a store to find him, just had to listen for his great big laugh. Called everyone ‘my love’, and always made you feel so welcome and wanted. He loved deeply, and was a friend to all, especially to his lucky animals. Never were a dog and cats so loved as Cookie, Miss Kitty and Charlie.
Doug’s legacy will live on especially in his grandchildren. Norah and Matthew have learned how to love from the very best, and we are so lucky that they will be able to carry his memory forward the rest of their lives.
Doug’s talents in the kitchen were enjoyed by many. He taught many of you some of his tricks of the trade, sliced many a slab of beef in the hall, and he and mom shared their goodies especially at Christmastime. Today, in his honor go to your kitchen and cook whatever your heart desires, and enjoy the process! Cook with purpose and passion, and flavour, for Doug.
Be Good, Be Kind, Be Gentle. He would tell us this all the time.
These words say it all. Doug was kind, gentle and good.
We will miss him every day, forever.
Love forever and always…
Gayle Foyster, Naomi Foyster, Wayne, Norah and Matthew Melnyk
