Hairy Hill Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to Fred and family on the loss of your loved one. In this time of sorrow and reflection, please take comfort in the knowledge that we remember Hattie with gratitude. The service she provided in support of the Fire Department in the past was remarkable. In the ‘80’s when the village of Hairy Hill was trying to secure funding for a fire hall and village office. Hattie was the backbone for local fundraising efforts. Working with other volunteers in the community, she could be seen everywhere, selling raffle tickets, working concessions at ball tournaments and doing whatever she could to help out. Her efforts paid off to the tune of nearly $30,000 in contributions toward the new facility. The Hairy Hill Fire Department remained a source of pride and accomplishment for Hattie in the years since her involvement. When given the opportunity, she often made enquiries and voiced her support for the Fire Department. We will do our best to maintain that home Hattie so generously helped facilitate as well as our service to the community for which her efforts were a foundation. We give thanks for Hattie’s service and May she now rest in Peace.
