Jim had a love of life, continuous learning and wine! It was this combination that we were destined to meet and become Sommeliers! Here are some photos with his winos. Rest in peace Jim and we will remember you always!

I've had the honor of knowing Jim and Brenda for close to 20 years through the HOG Chapter. From rally's, Mystery Rides, Sunday rides, rides for no reason, ... he was always cheerful, quick witted, and kind to all. You could tell if he wasn't very impressed but I never saw him be mean or malicious to anyone.
I always thought of him as a sort of renaissance man, he enjoyed doing many things well. Singing, riding, loving those close to him (not the least of which was Brenda), sommelier, I wish I could have known him longer and better.
I respected him, loved him, and will miss him in many different ways.
Rest well my friend, we'll ride together again.

I moved to Edmonton at the beginning of 1986 and needed a marketing manager to help run the methanol division. After interviewing many highly skilled applicants I finally went to Ord Anderson in HR and said I needed someone with more social skills for marketing & sales. He said you then need to meet Jim Snowdon. I did and I hired Jim. Jim was fantastic to work with and we became close friends. He developed great customer relationships so the success followed. I told him about Karaoke with customers on my Japan trips and soon after he picked up singing again as Karaoke came to Canada. I soon learned not to sing after Jim..... as did many others. He had a great full voice and he sang at my wedding with a professional band called Emerald City. During my nine years in Edmonton we had a close group of friends and somehow Jim was the lynchpin. Always something going on with Jim and he had a way of including people. He was a tremendous friend and support for me. For the close 30 years Jim organized our annual golf trip usually to Kelowna. I looked forward to more time with Jim and am sad that will not happen. I am very grateful to have had Jim in my life. I am so happy that Jim's life was full love and laughter. My love to Brenda and the family. Tony Coward

Brenda and family, I’m sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We all had so many great memories of Jim, the best ones were always while we were out having some drinks. Whether he was telling stories or hitting the karaoke, it was always such a great time. He was a special man.
I hope you all can get comfort in how he always made people laugh and have a great time. Take care

I moved to Alberta in the late 80s to work at the Celanese plant. On my very first day there, I met Jim and he invited me to play darts at the Bell & Court in Sherwood Park. A start to a long friendship. We went on golf trips to Kelowna every year for more than 25 years. During the beginning of the karaoke craze, Jim and I spent many nights singing our hearts out. Jim was so good and always received great feedback.
I will miss his sense of humour, his strange jokes and his Geordie sayings. We had some wonderful times together and the memories will stay with me. Love to Brenda and family.

I met Jim through my work, and although we had a bit of an age gap we had a lot in common. I’ll always remember our shared love of music, motorcycles and later wine. He will truly be missed and I’m glad I was able to have met such a wonderful man. Thanks for the memories, life lessons and great times growing up. Thoughts and prayers to the family in their time of mourning.

Uncle Jim- you had the heart of a lion and the mischievous personality of a child, which is what we loved about you. Jump scares as a child while visiting you in Canada, pretending to steal Eliza’s sweets, the pranks were endless. I can still hear your contagious laugh.
From your dear brother Jacky-my dad- a message that he would send if he were able- Love you wor Jim, party hard in heaven. He would be devastated if he was understand that you were departed. Party hard- the words you used to end the speech at my wedding, we were so honoured you and Brenda made the trip.
Myself, Peter, Darcey, Elodie and Eliza have the fondest of memories of you which we will forever treasure.
To all the family, we love you and send so many hugs and kisses.

Jim was just downright awesome. Warm, kind, down-to-earth and blessed with a sly & sharp sense of humour.
I will always remember him cruising by on his bike, Brenda on the back, with his rock-and-roll ponytail flowing in the breeze. Or walking by on a late summer evening & chatting as Jim and Brenda sat on their porch with a glass of wine and fed my dog (who literally has no time for any other human except Jim or Brenda) treats and pets. Jim, you were truly one of a kind. You will be so missed by so many people who had the pleasure of knowing you. Brenda and family, we are so sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts.

Jim, Dave White and I formed a band back in '63 and calls ourselves the ' Vulkans '. Jim on lead guitar and vocals, Dave on rhythm and myself in drums.
We were very popular in the area and appeared on TV.
We always got together when he and Brenda visited the Uk.
Happy days.

My deepest and sincere condolences to you Brenda and your family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. I remember the first time meeting Jim was at Jerry's place for band rehearsal, and I pulled up behind a car with the license plate named BLUESMAN. After finding out later that it was Jim's car and hearing his voice , I realized that BLUESMAN was the perfect name for ALL his vehicles. I'm so Grateful and Thankful that we shared a lot of special moments together with Jim and Five Shades of Blue together. Jim's voice will always be special just like the Man he was. He will be deeply and sadly missed by all.

So many memories to share but the one that sticks in my head is uncle Jim telling me how many spoons of sugar were in a can of coke and showing me (weird but so true in aunty Mary's kitchen). I believe I get my love of AC/DC from him and will always now and forever think of him while listening to their music. Xxx

In the twinkling haven above, may James find solace. He was a beacon of thoughtfulness and caring for anyone who cross his path. His deep connection with Brenda, clothed in respect and shared stories, will forever remain woven in the tapestry of time. Let’s celebrate this man: an embodiment of kindness and friendship, whose spirit eternally inspires us to walk the path of compassion with graciousness. May his soul rest peacefully in eternal glory.

You were one of the best Uncle Jim. Your visits to the UK were filled with parties, laughs, and lots of alcohol. It’s hard to accept you are gone but I’m sure your with Nanna and the gang continuing the party. I will never forget the day you sang at my wedding and again on my birthday. Everyone said wow who is that singing? I’d proudly say that’s my uncle Jim. We will miss you but you will be forever in our heart until we meet again. Love you millions Susan and Mark xxxx
