We met Walter and Anne when we moved to a farm near Lavoy. We remained friends since meeting them in 1974; 49 years! Walter was one of the most compassionate, caring and sincere person we have the privilege of calling a friend.

Uncle Walter was a wonderful man, who was special to many people. I spent some great times on their farm, usually on school holidays and every Easter celebration. Our family gatherings were always fun times. He will be missed. Вічная Пам'ять

We were deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Walter’s passing. He was a wonderful man who always welcomed you with open arms. He always had a smile on his face and would usually be making you laugh with a joke or funny comment. I’ll always remember the times I spent at the farm with him and Auntie Anne. Visiting the little spring chicks was always my favorite. He will be greatly missed. Вічная Пам'ять ~Amy
He was such a beautiful soul and I am very grateful to have known him and had spent time with him. I will miss his laughter and chats every time we visited. What an amazing man he was. ~Troy

Walter and Anne came into my life when I was a toddler. They quickly became part of the Anderson family. I’d sit on Walter’s knee, or right smack beside him each time we had a visit. There’s something about this man, something safe and kind and loving. Anne never once came to these countless visits empty handed. Always bringing freshly made treats like donuts, kutia, and holubtsi. Anne is an amazing wife. When I was a child, Walter would give me and my brother a quarter every time we saw him …until my piggy bank was FULL. I’d beam with pride that these special people always took time to show how much they cared. Simple things, thoughtful things. I love this special couple. As I continued to grow up, their presence and love continued. There was always a gift for me under their tree.. and more donuts and more holubtsi. When they came over, it was always a tea party, …full of stories and laughs. Sometimes…. It was an excuse for the adults to sample spirits as well! Walter was a true gentleman. A loyal person, faithful friend and mentor. He made a difference on this earth. He impacted people in the most positive ways; he mattered and he mattered so very importantly. He has impacted me forever. He is truly loved and he will truly be missed. I will miss you Walter.

Uncle Walter was a wonderful person. He was a great role model and mentor for me. It was a passion for me to spend my youth vacations on their farm and assisting them until they retired from farming. I gained a lot of knowledge about life and farming from him. Visiting them in Vegreville was always a joy, Uncle Walter would think up some small tasks, for me to check out or repair, I was always glad to help. Many laughs, jokes and good times were shared. Family and friend gatherings and celebrations meant so much to them. Along with Aunty Anne, they traveled to numerous places and enjoyed any casino along the way. He will be truly missed by many. Вічная Пам’ять!
