John was a unique man, a precious friend. The visits to Heritage House in Vegreville were surreal where he cared daily for his sweetheart Mary. John was a very dedicated Catholic and coffee with John was a spiritual gift as he shared so openly about so much of his very interesting life.

I always enjoyed visiting Uncle John and Aunt Mary whenever possible. They were always welcoming...even when I didn't tell them in advance that I was dropping by. John had a great sense of humor. When I told him about exchanging my old computer for an old video he laughed so hard he cried!
