We send our condolences on the passing of your mother Norma. We are so happy to have had her and Irvin in our lives. They were such kind, caring and interesting people with so much to share. Always a welcome greeting and kind word for the day. It was always a pleasure to visit with them. On Irvin's passing, Norma sent us a lovely letter with a photo of your Dad. Timothy enjoyed the time spent on visits with Irvin and discussing farming, environmentally sound practices and seed. We admired their talents and their caring interest in people and in our community.
We will remember them fondly.

Dear David, Diane & families,
I am holding you close in my thoughts and I hope you feel my hug from a distance. May you know that we care and are crying with you.
I shall remember your Mom fondly .... she always made time to speak to me at any family events, and I so dearly loved her "spunk". She definitely radiated a heartwarming and vibrant aura, and her smile was so radiant. Made me feel loved.
As your cousin, I didn't get to see you very often while growing up, but it was always nice to catch up with news of you whenever I did see your Mom and Dad. Now our parents are all gone and seems connections may be fewer than ever, but I have great memories in my mind. I hope we meet again in happier circumstances.
Take care of each other.
Love your cousin Donna (Taylor) Doyle and hubby Pat.

Norma encouraged me since a was a child singing at the Wendy Brook Festival, all the way through to adulthood. She left a lasting mark on me, because I want to be like her. Always witty, always humorous, always joyful. I love and miss Norma.

We have fond memories in emerging adulthood years of living in Regina with Norma and her sister-in-law Frances Puffalt amongst our friends. Those were years when many gospel meetings were held in the hall on north Albert street and when Ruth Hagglund inspired the young folks to build a replica of the tabernacle. In September 1961, we witnessed from the third floor of the Medical Clinic, the happy double wedding party as they entered the Drake Hotel with their families. Many good memories —-from the Scott sisters ( Phyllis Olson & Bernice Eagle)

I met Mrs. Cowan at the Wendy Brook as a kid. She was always so supportive and of the entrants and excited to hear their performances. Mrs. Cowan always remembered me and took the time to say hello when we would run into each other in the community all these 30 years since. She was gave a lot of her time and heart to the Vegreville community. Thank you Mrs. Cowan for all your generosity, kindness and making everyone you met feel like they mattered.

Norma and Irwin were instrumental in the formation of the Legacy 4 Health walking group in Vegreville. More recently, after she was no longer able to walk with us, she asked to be notified when we put on a celebration (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc.). She made every effort to join us, and her company was truly cherished. Each time she walked with us, she sported a stylish walking skirt which swayed to and fro keeping time to the steps of her spirited walk. We will all miss her positive attitude, her zeal for life, and her joyful laugh.
Great memories made with Norma!

Norma and Irvin were great neighbors on the farm. Norma was always spunky and kind. We often met at the end of our driveways to go for a walk, which was always a brisk one with Norma! After she left the farm I would always look forward to seeing her at the school for the Wendy Brook festival. She was always kind, thoughtful, positive and upbeat. She had a way of making you feel welcomed and appreciated. Her presence will be greatly missed in our community. Our deepest sympathies to her family and friends. She was an incredible person.

I have considered Norma and Irvine, some of my close friends ever since my first year in the Work. Though in the more recent years we seldom were together our fellowship valued.
As well, our families are connected.
The family will miss Norma but will be content in knowing that’s their loved one has fought a good fight and finished her course with honor.

Norma was one of a kind; perpetually kind, thoughtful, and unfailingly optimistic. I loved working with her years ago at Peter Svarich School. Then I looked forward to being at “her” table when she worked at Albert’s. Her bright eyes and ready smile will be dearly missed. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.

The Heartbeat of our festival and lifelong member of the Wendy Brook Music festival .
Let us take a moment to shine a light on a remarkable individual who has been a cornerstone of our beloved music festival .
For decades , Norma has been more than just a volunteer; she has been the very heart and soul of this festival. With a caring spirit and an infectious zest for life, Norma has brought joy and laughter to everyone who has had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
Norma has always been there, rolling up her sleeves and diving into the work with unyielding enthusiasm. She has been a guiding light for newcomers, offering a warm smile and an encouraging word, making everyone feel welcomed and included.
But it's not just her dedication that sets Norma apart—it's her incredible wit! Who could forget the countless times she lightened the mood with a perfectly timed joke or a playful quip? Norma has a unique ability to turn our festival meetings and our festival week into unforgettable memories, reminding us all to find joy in the little things.
Today, as we celebrated Norma’s special milestone , let us also celebrate Norma a true embodiment of the spirit of this festival. Her passion for music, community, and kindness has inspired us all to give a little more.
So, here’s to you, Norma! Thank you for your unwavering dedication, your boundless energy, and your heart of gold. Your legacy is not just in the years you’ve volunteered, but in the countless lives you’ve enriched along the way. We are forever grateful for you, and we look forward to making many more memories together in the years to come.
This was a tribute we made to Norma on our Wendy Brook Page . We will for ever treasure the memories we all made with her . Norma will be forever missed . She was an incredible woman and inspiration.
