This was one fine man! Even though I knew he did not "belong" to my congregation, he was always present at all of the lodge services wherever he was living. One day I walked in just as the Orthodox Church was preparing for worship. John was there. Jokingly, I said to him, "John! I thought you were mine!" and his reply, with a big smile on his face, "I'm everybody's!" And he truly was.
I know John did not have a large family but I pray that he now has the while company of Heaven as his family. Rest in peace, old friend.
