As we all are, Heather and I are in shock and disbelief that Elaine has received her eternal reward too early for us. I have many fond memories of Elaine especially being a spiritual mother to me. She always looked out for us in that way, even to the point of her liquid oregano that I only took once. From that moment on I would quickly run the other way when she brought it out. She had an incredible passion for Jesus, prayer and people. Since moving on from Vegreville, she has been missed but this goes to a depth beyond words. I am thankful for the great hope of reunion in the days or years to come as we gather as family in our eternal home. May the comfort of our heavenly Father and the peace of Jesus envelope Ken, Dean, Grant and their families and all the friends that were touched by Elaine’s loving heart!

Ken,Grant,Dean and families
It was at the Vegreville Long Term Care Centre where I met and had the privilege of getting to know Elaine and become
friends. I always said if I was to become sick that I would want Elaine to be my nurse, she was susch a kind, gentle, caring compassionate person. Always happy and I still can hear her giggle.I will miss her emails and visits uptown. I am so sorry for your loss,we know she is with Our Lord and Savior. Rest in Peace Elaine.
With the deepest of sympathy and caring.

My mother and Elaine’s mother were sisters which would obviously make us cousins, but in a time before email and internet it meant that since I lived in Ontario and we were more than ten years difference in age, I had never met Elaine until it was announced that she was to be married. My only cousins till then had been my aunt Rose’s children , Wayne and Wendell Harrison,. Once the wedding was announced we were all driving to Saskatchewan to attend. It was to be my first weddding experience! I had a new dress and shoes and when we arrived it seemed like I had a hundred cousins to meet! We practiced Ukrainian dances and I had food and heard music the likes of which I had never experienced! It is one of my best memories. I don’t remember meeting Elaine before that but I’m sure I must have , but that day and the next ( I still have pictures at Grandmas House in town) she was so welcoming and inclusive that I vowed to someday have a wedding just like hers!!! Sadly I didn’t, but at my wedding to a Westmount Montrealer who never appreciated our connected Ukrainian heritage ( a story for another time) we did do the Ukrainian dance I learned for Elaine’s wedding with my mom and aunt Rose. Elaine was always a presence in m life though I knew her not at all. Lucky for me Dean studied in Toronto for awhile so I was blessed to connect with him. My liive and thoughts to Elaine’s family, her touch 50 years ago stays with me today. Lori

Your mom was a beautiful woman inside and out. I will always remember the compassion and kindness she gave our family when my mom was dying at long-term care. And she had those striking beautiful blue eyes. The world has lost a special lady.

We send our condolences and love to all Family and Friends of Elaine, God blesses those people who grieve. They will find comfort! But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. God’s comfort comes to those who suffer for there faith, Christ encourages you and his love comforts you. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. The spirit of God offers the best there is to have. When we come to Him in pain and faith, He touches our hearts in tender ways that no human can.
For God so loved the World that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life Amen! Elaine RIP!
