Mr.Piat was my teacher at the composite high school in the 80’s. I remember him fondly as he was like a friend with a love forTina Turner. We went to a competition in Edmonton and Tina was played loudly. He was a great person and a fun loving soul. I wish I had seen of his passing earlier and would have attended the service. Please accept our sincerest condolences, Gayle, Christopher and Chantal, on the passing of your beloved, Richard. It is so sad that one learns of all the awesome gifts and talents of a person when they are gone. Richard volunteered with me with art projects for the Seniors at Heritage House, and was our photographer, glue gun man, etc., one who quietly encouraged and helped the Seniors with their projects! He was a real gem, and there was so much to learn from him, but regretfully I did not take advantage of the time given. It's too late. How sad. "Carpe Diem". Seize the day! We are only sure of this moment, so let's all make it count for the good of others!

I first came to know Richard when he trained as a volunteer with Vegreville Victim Services. He was very kind to everyone and anyone he dealt with always felt very cared for during a traumatic time.
As a group, we had a lot of fun and laughs.
