Darcy was an exceptional nephew to Nestor and Joyce Dowhaniuk. We all live some distance from Vegreville so Darcy was there to tend to their needs and ensure things were well. Darcy was always a pleasant fellow with a hearty laugh and a smile on his face. Neither distance nor time dimmed his enthusiasm when he saw a long lost friend or relative. Darcy has passed far too young and is a reminder to all of us to cherish each day and the people who make life special.

I was a friend of Darcy’s when he lived next door to my sister Audra n Randy Willison. He was a very honest n sincere guy. Very easy to visit with n always shared a chuckle with him. So sorry to hear of his passing. I know he will be missed by all that knew him. Take care Darcy!!

So sorry and shocked of the passing of Darcy. I clearly remember how we became friends... when he kindly took the time to come and visit me in the hospital after a tragic accident, about 40 years ago. I remember him is so genuine, kind and fun loving. Although we rarely bumped into one another, when we did he was still the kind soul that always shared in a laugh or two. I was truly shocked to hear of my friend's passing! Darcy and I went to school together and were friends through the years often visiting each other's homes! Now through the later years we often would run into each other at the post office and talk and talk and talk, like old friends so often do. He truly was a kind soul and fun to be around! He will be missed, may you rest in peace my friend.
