Our deepest condolences to Bessie’s family. My mom (Hazel) had the pleasure of meeting & blossoming a beautiful friendship with Bessie at Heritage Heights. The two of them would raise their patio blinds every morning to know the other was up for the day. Then they would call each other & meet up in the sunshine room for a daily visit. Hazel would bring her portable record player to the sunshine room & entertain with light hearted music or played the piano or just some funny jokes for the day. Bessie loved this. Hazel would make Bessie fresh homemade pancakes & fresh bread buns or ribs. The two of them shared a friendship which most don’t get in this lifetime. Oddly enough in February 2020 Bessie was in hospital for a health issue & Hazel ended up with an unfortunate hip replacement, the two of them shared a hospital room together & they were each other’s support systems. They made each other heal faster it was amazing to witness. Hazel got to go home from the hospital & Bessie was not released until Covid restrictions were in place so both had to heal in their homes. The two of them went to bingo & played cards with Lorna & had afternoon tea. Hazel is very grateful for this friendship & we were fortunate to have been able to visit Bessie before her passing. The three of us always joked when these ladies were in hospital “when we get you girls out of here..we’re going to the pub” Bessie still was saying that on our last visit with her. What a beautiful soul, heart of gold & humour that was priceless. We will all miss you Bessie, sending you big hugs & much love from Hazel, Jeannie & Kevin oxox

Joe, Vaunie, Darrin, Tiana, Nathan and families; Louise, Ron and families; Cam, Sharon and families,
We are saddened to hear of the loss of a grand and gracious lady. Bessie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend to many.
We cherished visits with her – times when she would share her life stories. Among her greatest loves were her family and friends.
Our condolences go to each of you. May you find comfort by the caring of those who love you.

Dear Family of Bessie
My heart is heavy as I read Bessie's obituary. She was such a darling lady. I shared many moments with her when I lived in Vegreville, especially at the Remembrance Day services and before she moved out of her home. We were really blessed to have been a part of her life. God less all of you. A donation in her memory is being sent to the Vegreville United Church, another place where we shared each others company.
