To: Elsie’s children Thank you for sharing your mother’s funeral with those who could not attend. Thoughts of your mother put smiles on our faces. Two doors down from her friend Verna, we met her many times over the years she lived independently in her home. Elsie had a lot of energy and could accomplish lots in a day. A good role model for us! Seeing what blooms Elsie had for us in her front yard every spring was worth slowing the vehicle or walking to get the mail. A master gardener, she loved talking anything vegetable. Elsie always spoke of her children and grandchildren with love and pride in their accomplishments. Told of her baba’s friend’s passing, my daughter expressed sadness, then said, “I could go for some of those sticky buns with icing and a sprinkle of nuts!
