Condolence to Marietta your family and extended members of the White family.
Most of my fond memories of Rod are from times growing up in the community of Jenner and attending Jenner school. Although our path in life put distance between us I always checked with family at Jenner to find out the latest news about Rod. We will miss Rod but cherish the wonderful memories we have.

Dear Maritta, Cecil, Samantha, and Makayla:
As a retired lawyer in Vegreville, I will always remember Rod and Maritta buying property north of Ranfurly and physically moving a house up Highway 36 from southern Alberta to its present location. Sure don't see those types of real estate files that often!
I have always enjoyed Rod's company. Last time I saw him he showed me his wonderful ice fishing trailer and we went together to eliminate some pesky gophers on the property.
Hope you keep the family farm "as is" going forward.
Driving on Highway 631 I will always remember Rod whenever I pass the intersection on top of the hill with the big gravel pile on the south.
My wife Larissa passes on condolences to Maritta as a fellow Elk Island teacher. She marvels at Maritta's ability to drive every day, in all weather conditions, to teach in Mundare. She also notes that her former Principal, Greg Probert, has property in your vicinity. Nice to be in a good neighborhood!
Please carry on life as best as you can. Rod will always be hovering above. Wonder if his trademark white beard isn't causing all the wonderful hoarfrost we have following Rod's demise!
Sorry Larissa and I couldn't make it to Rod's funeral service. I had to pick up Larissa at the Edmonton airport at the exact same time.
Rod's presence will always hover above your farm.

As I lived in Edmonton, I didn't see much of Rod and Maritta. But they were always present at our milestone family events, and Rod was never hard to pick out with his grizzly Adam's look, his smile and wit. I also know from the many Probert family stories that Rod and his family have a very special place in our hearts. I've no doubt that Dad and Rod have solved most of the world's problems and caught the worlds biggest fish! It's too bad they didn't write it all down and take some photos! Rod's big heart, humor and generosity were second to none, and he will be missed. But we will all cherish those memories and take solace knowing he's at peace in his final resting place. Our prayers are with the family.

Mr. White was our farm dad. Growing up spending weekends and summers at the farm, we always knew if we walked through the front door of grandpa and grandma’s house and smelled coffee, Rod was there (which was more often than not haha). From moving cattle, to building decks, to harvesting prairie oysters in front of our shell-shocked eyes, Rod was there. Helping, teaching, and sharing quality time were second nature to him. To share one memory of Rod is impossible because he was there for most. Thank you, Mr. White for all you did, it meant more than I think you knew. Rest easy.

I knew your dad/husband through bowling. We had many good times bowling. I saw Rod a couple of times while he was battling that terrible cancer. He had such a positive attitude and fought a valiant fight. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family. May the many memories warm your hearts and bring you comfort. Barry and Marilyn Topechka
